The 600LT belongs to McLaren's Longtail lineage, the cars built when the engineers were given room to remove rather than add. The wheelbase is short, the body extended, the structure carbon. With 592 hp and a 0-60 time of 2.8 seconds, it does not coddle the driver; it reports to one. Every input returns information, and the steering speaks before the corner arrives.

This is a two-seat car with little interest in distraction. The top-exit exhausts sit inches behind your shoulders, and the engine note arrives unfiltered. It will run to 204 mph given the road, yet its real character shows in the way it loads and unloads through direction changes. On the open stretches north of Naples it rewards precision over bravado, which is the entire point of a Longtail.
